Heart or Mind!!!!

What is the Relationship between mind and heart? Whether we obey to our heart or to our mind?
I get confused as to were we fix up our thoughts whether in our mind and get it done consulting our heart or else we do so in our heart first and then make it up with our mind???
I hope that we can’t see both mind and heart as distinct things logically. May be because of the fact that both of them must act in a synchronized manner.
But there do come some situations at which we get yielded to anyone (i.e., either mind or heart).
